Getting Ready for the TOEFL iBT® Reading Sections
Taking a standardized test can make you (and most people) very anxious. It is even more nerve-wracking when it’s the TOEFL and your plans to study abroad or get a better job are based upon demonstrating your English proficiency.
The test doesn’t check how smart you are; instead, it tests your ability to survive in an institution or job where English is the language for communication and instruction. The TOEFL is a check of basic language skills and organized around the four skills of Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. Can you handle a class where the professor lectures in English? Can you collaborate and contribute on a project in which English is the language used by the team? Will your English skills enable you to get along whether on the school campus or in the office?
Because of the TOEFL skill focus, it is easy to determine your strengths and weaknesses and then work to develop your English skills. And that’s what the WeSpeke TOEFL Lessons are designed to do!
